Vancouver, B.C. (January 18, 2014) – The Vancouver NPA has announced the details for its upcoming Oakridge Neighbourhood Forum. The forum will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Peretz Centre – 6184 Ash Street in Vancouver – next to Oakridge Centre starting at 6:30 PM.
The Oakridge forum will take the form of a round-table discussion with small groups exploring issues and then presenting to the larger group. The controversial Oakridge Centre rezoning proposal, as well as other ongoing issues in and around the Oakridge area, will be among the topics under discussion.
Forums for other Vancouver neighbourhoods are also being planned: for Marpole at the end of February, for Grandview Woodlands at the beginning of March, and for Killarney at the end of March.
The NPA has embarked on this program of neighbourhood policy forums to seek input from residents and businesses. The discussions that take place will help the NPA formulate its platform and policies for the upcoming municipal election in November 2014.
