Christopher is a Chartered Professional Accountant specializing in providing charitable gift planning services to donors and their advisors.

Christopher has offered a life-time of volunteer commitment to Vancouver. His many involvements have included leadership in the fields of healthcare, charities, his professional and other civic and community agencies. His involvements have included Youville Senior’s Residence, Leadership Vancouver, CLICK, ICABC, Champlain Heights and Mount Pleasant Community Associations and many others.

Civically, Christopher has served as a Vancouver Park Commissioner for 3 terms dating back to 1986 and most recently was a Trustee of the Vancouver School Board between 2014 and 2016 serving a Chair for a portion of the term.

Christopher has served as a Special Municipal Constable with the Vancouver Police Department since 1973 volunteering as a Reserve Constable until 1999 when the program was transitioned to the Traffic Authority program.

Christopher is married to Alison, a RN and has two sons, Kirk (30), an Engineer and Matthew (25) who is completing his teacher education requirements at UBC. Christopher, a 4th generation Vancouverite is an avid ½ marathon walker, regular Grouse grinder, Vancouver history buff and is studying mandarin.

Christopher is In recognition his professional and community endeavors, Christopher was awarded a fellowship ( FCPA, FCA ) in 1996 by the Chartered Professional Accountants of BC, a “Friend” award by the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP) in 2008 and a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal by Vancouver East MP Libby Davies in 2012.

All said, Christopher’s personal and professional community background prepares him to once again advocate for all of Vancouver’s diverse learners served by the Vancouver School Board, especially those that would otherwise struggle. Our community’s success requires us to be creative, seek new solutions and work with the many partners especially the provincial Ministry of Education that contribute in their unique ways to the exciting yet diverse and complex learning opportunities in Vancouver.
