KATHY MCGARRIGLE Park Board Candidate

Kathy McGarrigle is a proud resident of Vancouver. She is respected for her longtime commitment to serving others and wants to bring her deep knowledge of the city and extensive business experience to be the voice for positive change. Kathy is the former COO of Coast Capital Savings, Canada’s largest credit union by membership with over 500,000 members, 1650 employees and $18.4 billion in assets—Kathy understands the need for strong leadership, consultation, and collaboration. With her broad and extensive experience can she can “hit the ground running” making strategic decisions on behalf of our diverse neighborhoods and residents.

She has a passion for making a difference in the community and lends her time to issues related to poverty, women, children, and seniors. Over the years, Kathy has played leading roles and had a significant impact in several community organizations, including the Canadian Board Diversity Council for Canada, Salvation Army Advisory Board, Campaign Chair, Kate Booth Women’s Shelter, Canadian Cancer Society, YWCA, Loving, Spoonful and the Zajac Foundation. She has served on several community and corporate boards.

Ms. McGarrigle has been recognized for her leadership and community service numerous times throughout her career. She was named one of “ Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women, B.C’s Top 20 Women and “ Surrey’s Business Leader of the Year. Ms. McGarrigle is a graduate of Queen’s University Executive Program, Institute of Corporate Directors and a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers.
