NPA releases list of campaign donors and contributions in advance of municipal election
VANCOUVER – This morning, the NPA released a list of cumulative donations received by the campaign to October 2, 2018. In total, the NPA and its candidates have raised a total of $837,207 from 4,460 eligible individuals. The average amount of all contributions is $188 per eligible individual.
Under the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act (LECFA), a contribution from an eligible individual is limited to $1,200 in total to each campaign of an elector organization and its endorsed candidates. An eligible individual is defined as a resident of British Columbia, and a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident.
Elections BC defines a significant contributor to a campaign as an eligible individual who makes a campaign contribution of $100 or more to the same candidate or campaign. Elector organizations and candidates must file a disclosure statement with Elections BC by January 18, 2019.
