Coming to Canada from the Democratic Republic of Congo as a young boy, Ray Goldenchild found sports the bridge for him to integrate into a new place and culture.
Ray runs a sports management consulting company based in South Vancouver and volunteers his time with several youth sports organizations. He has dedicated his life to giving back to the community through activism and volunteerism.
For his unwavering passion and drive over the past 20 years working with kids and youth in sports, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the African Canadian Soccer and Cultural Association for outstanding contribution to the community and an award from Langara College in 2019 on the International Day for Elimination of Racial Discrimination for his volunteer and mentorship of youth in the community.
His background in youth sports will allow him to utilize his expertise to draft initiatives that will result in innovative and efficient ways to deliver sports programs for the children of Vancouver.
