Ken Sim and the NPA Team file nomination papers, committing to deliver the change Vancouver needs

VANCOUVER – Mayoral candidate Ken Sim was joined by his fellow NPA candidates Friday at City Hall, as the team filed their official papers for the civic election on October 20.

“I couldn’t be prouder of the team we’ve assembled – capable, diverse community leaders from right across Vancouver who can deliver the change our city needs,” said Sim, a lifelong Vancouverite who has raised four sons in the city with his wife, Teena. “Together, we’re going to take immediate action to deliver more attainable housing, develop a stronger local economy that helps people afford to live in Vancouver, and make sure everyone from kids to seniors is safe and supported in our city.”

An accountant by training, Sim co-founded Nurse Next Door in 2001 to provide seniors with the services they need to age in place with dignity – building the company into an award-winning employer with franchises throughout North America. In 2013, Ken co-founded Rosemary Rocksalt Bagels, now a Vancouver staple with locations on Main Street and Commercial Drive.

The NPA is proud to field a team of candidates that reflect the diversity of today’s Vancouver. They include entrepreneurs, leaders from the not-for-profit sector, experienced elected officials, and a range of subject matter expertise – including urban geography, sustainability, and a bus driver.

After thousands of conversations with Vancouverites, including community groups, policy experts, and neighbourhoods across the city, the NPA will roll out its platform over the coming weeks – including an action plan for housing attainability, a back-to-basics approach that will improve core services at City Hall, and wide-ranging measures to make Vancouver a more liveable city.
